"I received your package today and am desperate to open it. I think I'll have to wait till Christmas, though. I also received granny's package, which again, is very exciting.
The work is slowly rolling along. I've somewhat learned that I will have to re-learn everything again- well, so far as contacting goes. I'm trying to actually converse with people, which has been a lot more difficult. It's something I've had to rely more on the Lord for than simply going up to people and immediately talking to them. But I'm confident it will touch more people's hearts. I just gotta get good at it, because right now it feels like first transfer all over again. I wish I could read your emails as they were, because I really don't know what to say, otherwise.
This week we had Christmas Zone conference. A really good experience, I thought. I learned a lot about working with the members. I think there is a lot of potential for this work to really take off in this part of Lithuania.
After which, we had dinner in a restaurant in Kaunus (I think it's west of Vilnus). It was a nice meal, but afterwards most of the American Elders were still VERY hungry- I just don't get it.
This week I actually received a letter from the Watts'. As part of an FHE activity, they were writing to all the missionaries they knew- quite an achievement since they have 5 nieces and nephews on missions at the moment. Did I tell you that I met one of their nieces at the MTC? She was going to one of the visitors centres in the US. I also got a letter from Rhonda, who has been made 2nd counsellor in the Townsville YWs. Their branch has no missionaries, so for one activity, they sent me a letter in the form of a puzzle- which was great.
Our investigators at the moment are Taisia and Raimondas. Taisia continues to like seeing us even though she's a little sick, but her dad (inactive member) I think is starting to get a little scared of us. Raimondas we met for the first time on Monday and it was a really good lesson. He's 16, and now has a copy of the Book of Mormon. Things look promising for him.
Oh no, Louisa!!! I'm sure Mum and Dad taught you better than watching High School Musical! Oh well, Brooke loves it, as I recall, so you two can chat about it all you want.
Funny you mentioned the beach, because I was just recently thinking about the beach and how it was actually a major part in my growing up, at least more than I thought. But most of my fondest memories are actually family trips to the beach. It's really between that and family camps. It's so strange how when you look back on what really helped you come to, it's situations like those.
I've got to agree with Alec and Jesse about reading. If I can add my own two cents into that, a book is usually written for the quality of the story in very few situations is it crude, or carnal. Even if a book tries, it usually cannot compete with other forms of media. With television, music or film, however, the situation is the opposite. "
