Alec & Roger had a weekend of Deer hunting a couple of weeks ago - and got a doe - which is better than a stag - when they get a stag not only is the meat not that good but we have to have antlers hanging in the tree for the next few years! Alec shot the deer and the boys brought it home on Friday morning. It was tied to the tow bar of Roger's car but fortunately Graham Sully had the foresight to take a trailer and so they threw the deer in the trailer and Graham brought it home.

Sadly they didn't have a tarp to cover it up so it must have provided some interest for passing motorists. It certainly interested Samuel and Max.

Saturday was spent butchering and starting to tan the hide.

The dogs were very interested. And Honey was a bit distressed - as she should be since a similar fate awaits her if she doesn't stop eating everything.
