The Missing Link

Jesse claims that is what her english teacher will be calling her - this teacher taught Thomas for Extension English where he was a bit of a star, and Alec for the most basic English - where he was not a star (except that he was a pet because he's so nice). Jesse reckons she falls in the middle - hence the missing link.
